Beacon Hill triplex is a spectacular sale
An extraordinary Beacon Hill triplex at 66 Mount Verrnon St. is among the 27 million-dollar-plus condos that were sold in the city in December.
The newly created three-plus-bedroom home with fabulous, private outdoor space sold for $2.35 million.
Tracy Campion of Campion and Company Real Estate was the listing broker, and Laura Baliestiero of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Concord was the selling broker.
Built in 1808 as a single-family home, the Federal-style row house was converted to two stunning contemporary triplexes in 2010. Unit 1 has 2,747 square feet of living space.
It is absolutely beautiful. The open floor plan lends itself to entertaining.
The living room features a gas fireplace with a gray marble mantelpiece that is original to the home.
Triple crown molding rims the ceiling, which has abundant recessed lighting. The living room flows into a formal dining area that is open to the kitchen.
A sweeping view of the private courtyard, terraced gardens and outdoor deck is visible from the upper floors of this home.
Two sets of French doors in the dining room open onto a deck with a view of the private garden. The many panes add lots of natural light to this area. The magnificent gourmet kitchen has a large center island topped with honed black granite that faces the dining area. There is more counter space against the wall. The cabinetry is custom-built.
Opposite the island is the gas range. The kitchen extends into an ell, where other top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and a deep stainless stink are located.
The master bedroom suite includes a sitting room and a walk-in closet plus an en suite marble bath with a deep soaking tub, an oversized glass-enclosed shower and a long vanity topped with Carrara marble. Two other bedrooms have large closets and marble baths as well.
The lower level features a wine cellar and a big family room with two wide French doors that open onto a wooden deck.
The outdoor space continues with steps to terraced gardens and the brick courtyard, enclosed by a wall.
The gourmet kitchen is open to the dining room, which has French doors to a large deck.
A stone path that leads to Chestnut Street also provides access to this space, which is approximately 25 by 28 feet. It was on the Beacon Hill Garden Club’s tour of hidden gardens several years ago.
