Boston's Battery Wharf residences are stunning
Boston is a fabulous city that is known for its fine cultural and educational institutions, its financial services, its medical facilities, research and development firms and biotech companies.
Now imagine living on Boston’s waterfront in absolute luxury.
Battery Wharf can provide that. The mixed-use development of 104 condominiums and the 150-room Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel offers a lifestyle of genteel comfort.
Elaine Dolley and Patrick Cutter of Otis & Ahearn Real Estate are marketing the residences here and recently gave a tour of three outstanding properties in one of the four buildings in the complex.
Unit 4404 is the largest home, featuring two bedrooms and a study. Listed at $2.15 million, it has an interesting layout, as the living space is grand at 2,451 square feet.
From the foyer past a convenient powder room, you step into the wide living room, which is open to a large dining area and a sleek kitchen.
The flooring is Santos mahogany. Both the living room and dining room have double glass doors that open onto a Juliet balcony.

The kitchen is a chef’s delight with a six-burner Thermador gas range, a Gaggenau steamer and a warming drawer, heat lamps, two wall ovens and a dishwasher, plus a U-Line wine refrigerator and a KitchenAid trash compactor.
The counters are blue eye granite, and above the entire counter space is a backsplash of glass.
The Makore wood cabinets have glass fronts, and next to the kitchen is a large laundry room with a side-by-side Bosch washer and dryer.
Beyond the dining room is one of the two bedrooms with a large walk-in closet and an en suite bath. The bath is tiled with Calcutta gold marble and boasts a soaking tub and a glass-enclosed shower and two sinks set into the marble-topped vanity.
The master bedroom suite is on the other side of the living room, but first you pass through a set of doors and a large space that has a circular shape, almost like a turret, with lots of light.
This is a perfect spot for a sitting area for relaxing, reading or simply enjoying the water view.
The kitchen in Unit 4409 features high-end stainless steel appliances, granite counters, a glass backsplash and cabinetry of Makore wood.
Opposite is a deep walk-in closet with double doors.
The master bath beyond the bedchamber is absolutely sumptuous with its whirlpool soaking tub set into a marble deck and positioned in front of a wall of glass. The shower has a rain showerhead and hand-held body sprays. Both the bedroom and the bath have doors that open onto a private terrace.
Unit 4408 comprises two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths within 1,633 +/- square feet of living space. It is offered at $1.725 million.
Its layout is rectangular, near the far end of the building that juts out into the harbor.
A powder room with a pedestal sink is located off the foyer and the living/dining room lies straight ahead.
The interior kitchen is equipped with the same appliances, cabinetry and granite, and against one wall is a laundry closet with a side-by-side Bosch washer and dryer.
Bedroom suites with walk-in closets are on either side of the principal living area, and their en suite baths feature the same Calcutta gold marble finishes.
A large terrace with northern views of the Inner Harbor can be accessed from both the master bedroom and the living room.
The master bedroom in Unit 4404 has a mahogany floor and floor-to-ceiling glass with a view of the terrace. Double doors lead to a lavish marble-tiled bath.
The third residence is Unit 4409, offered at $1.525 million. Within its 1,375 square feet of living space are two bedrooms – the second bedroom is more like a study – and one-and-a-half baths.
Located on the south side of the complex, it has views of the mouth of Boston Harbor and, close by, the city fireboat with its bright red hull.
The main living/dining area is open to the kitchen, which has a center island rather than a peninsula/breakfast bar.
In addition to the high-end stainless steel appliances, customized cabinetry and granite counters as in other units, the kitchen holds a closet for a stacked washer/dryer.
The master bedroom suite with a cove ceiling includes an en suite bath with a soaking tub set into a marble deck, a glass-enclosed shower and two sinks in the marble-topped vanity. The bath is next to a walk-in closet.
On the other side of the living/dining space is the second bedroom or den. Both rooms have access to a large terrace.
Designed by The Architectural Team, the Battery Wharf complex features 104 residences with terrific water views.
All of these units have one deeded valet parking space. Another advantage to living at Battery Wharf is the availability of hotel services, such has in-home dining and housekeeping.
The condo fees include Wi-Fi, phone and cable service, hot water, gas cooking and heat. Lastly, the complex is pet friendly.
