Hamlin Street is a wonderful spot for someone in South Boston who likes to be on the go.
Carson Beach is just across Columbia Road, the greensward and William J. Day Boulevard. The bus to downtown Boston is a half block in the other direction on East Eighth Street.
Historic Thomas Park is a short distance away, and Castle Island and the stores in South Boston are all reasonable walks. But for homebodies, the condo at 11 Hamlin St. would be a very pleasant place to simply relax.
In 1921 when a garage was built on Hamlin Street, there was already a stable at the end of the lot at Columbia Road. In the early 2000s a developer secured permission to clear the lot and build five condominiums there.
According to the listing agent, Tia Zaferakis of Jack Conway and Company, Unit 5 in the complex was built on what was the yard between the garage and the stable.
It is a delightful condo with two bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, on the street level and a vast, open living area on the upper level.

At the second bedroom the hallway turns left and leads past the stairwell to the second egress.
This door opens to the hallway that gives access to the back patio, the front door to Hamlin Street and the door to the garage.

The master bedroom is on the garden level and includes an en suite bath.
To the left is the huge open entertaining area that fills the entire space from the front to the back of the unit.

Across the street is sandy Carson Beach, one of the nicest beaches in the city.
